“I’m Glad I Got It Wrong,” Says Online Hotshot Darren Olander…(because it made him a better marketer)

darren olanderIf you have been around internet marketing for any length of time you will probably have heard of a guy called Darren Olander. (That’s him on the left.)

In fact you are probably already a subscriber to his list.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t already use one of his products. The super cool social traffic exchange and viral mailer ListSurfing is run by Darren and business partner Matt Koshko.

If you do know of him then you might think that he is a marketer who just seems to do everything right…you probably think this because Darren is a marketer who seems to do everything right.

But it was not always so.

And while I am sure he still makes mistakes he makes far fewer than he once did.

Darren was like many other aspiring marketers when he first set out on his marketing journey in 2002 when he was just 16.

James Holmed

Host James Holmes interviewed Darren on Blog Talk Radio

He knew that he wanted to make money online so that he could have the freedom and independence of being his own boss but he didn’t know exactly what to do.

However he was determined to make a success of his chosen career path and refused to give in to setbacks along the way which is why is he doing so well today.

He did not think of it as a hobby, or as something to play at to earn a couple of extra dollars here and there but he decided to make it his full-time job and treat working online just as he would treat any other full-time job in the offline world…he put the hours in and he worked hard.

I know all this because I recently heard Darren interviewed by marketer James Holmes on his Blog Talk Radio program. You should be able to click on the link to hear the interview for yourself.

Here is what Darren had to say about getting things wrong when he first set out as a marketer.

He said:

“Many of the things I did at beginning failed but all of those initial failures led me to where I am today.

“For example I met my business partner Matt Koshko as a result of one of those early failures.

“When something goes wrong there is always a lesson to be learned. Ask how you can benefit from what has happened and always keep your eyes open to opportunities.”

Darren has also built up his reputation as an honest and ethical marketer and his customers know that he will not just recommend any old affiliate product just to make a quick buck.

Instead he works hard to offer value for his customers and he treats his online business like a business and not a hobby.

Maybe you had not yet heard of Darren Olander before until today.

But remember the name.

It won’t be long before you hear it again.

Yes indeed. Getting things wrong should be no barrier to getting things right.
