His glasses would never, ever, have the tag ‘designer’ attached to them but that is not to say they don’t have anything attached to them; the sticky tape holding the thick black frame together is rather unmissable.
His ears are rather suggestive of a long career on the rugby field but the Tim Tech Nerd does not do sports, he does not do sports at all. Or fashion for that matter.
His green and yellow v-neck tank top, bargain-basement nylon shirt and garish marker-pen yellow bow tie are an odd combination to say the least. Combine this with his charcoal gray slacks and brown shoes and he looks every inch the nerd he really is.
But this blog likes the Tim Tech Nerd and you should get to like him too because the Nerd With No Name (at least for the time being) is a very rewarding young man indeed.
You see that is not a library card which he is clutching in his nerdy death grip, but the brand new Tim Tech Reward Card which has just been unveiled and is now live.
If you use any Tim Tech site (they are all, rather helpfully, listed at the bottom of this post) then you can use the card to claim points for any purchases and upgrades you make at any of the member sites. Each full US dollar you spend will earn you seven Tim Tech nerd points, and although I doubt that is their official term, it just sounds right. I mean take this made up quote for example:
“Hey I just upgraded at AdKreator and bought a start page on I Love Hits and I got myself a whole bunch of Tim Tech Nerd Points in the process.”
To me it just sounds right.
The ‘nerd points’ are a bit like airline frequent flyer miles and are a way of rewarding the most loyal Tim Tech customers. Save them up and you will be able to use them to get a range of cool free stuff from t-shirts and mugs to digital cameras and laptop
You will need to sign up for the card to be able to claim Nerd Points. At the moment they are rewarded for purchasing products and services at Tim Tech sites (things like buying credits, purchasing a subscription or upgrading your account) but soon you will even be able to get them for claiming badges. Don’t ask me how that one is going to work; even the Tim Tech Nerd has not worked out the finer points of that quite yet.
At time of posting these are the Tim Tech sites where you can earn Nerd Points:
