Why the focus should be on you and what you can do

Monday Moaning logoI have noticed recently that a lot of people online are spending too much of their time focusing on entirely the wrong areas.

Rather than putting their efforts into working hard on the things they can do they are spending a lot of time finding reasons why they cannot do things.

It seems that there is a trend amongst some to be super critical of the efforts of others while not really doing very much with their own online businesses.Stop worrying about how others are running their businesses and start worrying about how you are running yours.

What you do online will determine how well you will do and not how anyone else does.

I sometimes see this when new people join Click Track Profit. They will say something like: “Oh I am so far behind everyone else that I need to run fast to catch up.”

This is the wrong attitude.

In the online world you are not competing against others who have set out before you but you are competing against yourself.

By that I mean you have to overcome a lot of the barriers that you are putting up to block your success.

Things like:

  • fear of failure
  • reluctance to launch a product, service or site
  • being prepared to be average and not stand out from the crowd
  • failing to take risks when risks are called for
  • giving up at the first sign of trouble
  • trying to do everything yourself
  • failing to ask for help when you have problems you cannot solve
  • blaming others for your lack of success.

Focus on you and on what you can do and you will soon get the results you deserve.

It is not easy to get started online but, then again, neither is it impossible.

Great post Patrick. I know I felt that way when I first joined Click Track Profit. I wish I knew what member number I was, as I am sure by now many, many have joined after me. Of course, many are not active, so numbers don’t always reflect accuracy. The point is I am glad I didn’t let that stop me. I got so turned on I upgraded during the Christmas special and haven’t looked back. I shake my head in amazement at the folks who sign up but never bother to log in ever again as they are missing so much! I know this because from time to time I send the new folks a “Welcome” and jot down their user name to follow up on them. If they write back or confirm me as a friend I gift them a token or something. The percentage rate of people who don’t ever do a thing amazes me. I guess it shouldn’t because Jon has said over and over again that the rate of people who hang in there is so low.

Anyway, thanks for the post!

God bless,

Shelayne

Hi Shelayne,
You obviously have the right attitude here and deserve to do well.
I am also amazed by the numbers of people who sign up to programs like this and then never do anything at all with the program.
Those who don’t use CTP are really missing out on good training indeed.

Super AwesomeSauce. I couldn’t agree more.

Put the focus on YOU and stop worrying about everyone else. And if you are stuck, lost or just. Need some guidance, then ask someone. There are tons of people out there like Patrick, that Shane guy, and many others that are willing to help. But you have to ask.

Well done< I have some difficult faceing me but quit is not part of my vocabulary. But please don't ask how I will over come them because even I don't have the answer to that. Just keep on keeping on is the only even partial answer I have.

Hi Diana,
Sometimes we have take things far slower than we would like to do things and at other times we may even have to slow right down or even take a short break.
That does not mean we have to give up though.
Just take things slowly and one day at a time and I am sure you will prosper.
Patrick.

Hi Patrick,

This is a good moan, it’s so frustrating to see good people jump in and upgrade in everything then quit the next month when they don’t get a rapid result.

The best advice you can get is to start thinking like a business owner. Break even first, and invest in getting the basics correct. I know it’s difficult, but try to avoid the shiny objects from the snake oil salesmen.

I just hope that this message sinks in for everyone who reads this.

Hi Andrew,
You raise good points.
I think sometimes people think they have so much catching up to do that they must join everything they see when really they don’t.
It is far better to start slowly, find your feet, and get to know programs you join before moving onto something new.

Hey Patrick,

Definitely one of the greatest Monday Moans I have ever read my man and I fell myself for a few of your points as well.

Heck… I still try to do everything myself BUT I finally started outsourcing a few things so baby steps and slow and steady wins the race. ;-)

Thanks for the reminder man.

Hi Sergio,
I know you have been working hard of late so I know you are making good progress…but I am also sure you will be able to find tasks that you can best outsource to others in time.
